Thorn is proof positive in our philosophy of a hound, what makes them a pleasure and what it takes to win.

Thorn came to us as a young dog, and has proven to be a true pleasure.  At the tender age of 20 months, we entered him in his first competition hunt.  That was in March, and by July of the same year, he was a UKC Grand Night Champion.

Thorn lost two casts along the way to Grand Night Champion....one was by a math error on my part.

Since that time, Thorn has becomed no stranger to the winners circle.  He has been hunted most frequently in AKC hunts.  He has made final four apperances in the Indiana State AKC hunt, the  Heartland Classic in Wisconsin, the AKC Nationals as a final four  member, and was in the top 16 of the AKC World Hunt.07instatefrca5.jpg

But what really separates Thorn from the rest of the pack is the fact that he is a true pleasure to hunt.  His desire to please his handler is truly what drives him.  Turn him loose, and he will throw rocks to go hunting, looking to do one and only one thing, get under a coon.

In the mean time, he minds better than most kids.  Call him in from off a tree if you don't want to cross deep water.  Scratch him behind the ears when he is under a coon and watch him light up....then tell him to heel and have him follow you all the way back to the truck...no leash needed.

If you can't tell, I'm pretty satisfied with Thorn, and what he brings to our kennel.  His breeding career is just getting started, and his first pups are pretty young.  They are showing alot of his traits....his willingness to please, his game drive, and his ability to tree coon.

Thorn is at public stud, is enrolled in the UKC Performance Program, and will be enrolled in the yet to be announced AKC Breeder's Program.

His introductory stud fee is $250.00 with a live litter of 4 pups guaranteed.  We can ship chilled semen on Thorn as well, saving you substantially on expenses when wanting to breed your good female.

Feel free to contact us concerning breeding to Thorn, or to set up a hunt with Thorn.
